The Circus Tavern is the venue for the Players Championship beginning on the 28th of January, 2010. The prize fund for the event this year is a mouth watering £250,000… Darts has certainly come a long way under the expert guidance of Barry Hearn through Matchroom and PDC.

Phil Taylor to win again?
Yep. you read it here first. Phil Taylor is going to win this darts tournament. The man is a phenomenon and you might do worse than to put the mortgage on him at 1/3… but where’s the fun in that? He might break a finger the night before… that’s the only way he can lose.
Value Betting
If you are looking for a good value bet in this darts tournamnet then I recommend that you look no further than Co Stompe at odds of 80/1 with Paddy Power. They pay 1/2 the odds for the top 2 finishers so if he makes the final (inevitably to face Taylor) you are quids in. He is of
Co is an underrated performer at this level. He has shown in successive years at the Ladbrokes World Darts Championship that he can perform on the big stage. The crowd love him too which can be a big help at the rambunctious Circus Tavern. He does have a pretty tough first round draw against the accomplished Colin Osborne. If he can come through that tricky encounter then expect Co to go from strength to strength.
Co has been in excellent form at times this season and will take heart from strong performances at the Ally Pally. Co is one of the few players in the bottome half of the draw who I expect to have a 3 dart average close to 100 and that should be enough to beat most players any day of the week.
